I know I mentioned yesterday that I was going to be back today with baseball snapshots…but then this morning dawned crisp and cool; there was a mist floating through the trees; the trees that are starting to blaze in shades of goldenrod, magenta and amber…like some kind of sunrise playing out across the tops of the trees. Essentially – I think Autumn has finally arrived and I could not be happier!
The arrival of more fall-like temperatures this week reminded me that I had some pictures from about a week and half ago that I hadn’t shared. I mean – I’ve shared some iPhone quality photos, but these came off my real camera…and nothing says Autumn like pumpkin patches, corn mazes, pig races and stunning views of the mountains, right?
This post is by and large just a photo dump of past weekend explorations in the (Shenandoah) valley and in the (Shenandoah) mountains. Hope you enjoy!
The weather on this day wasn’t 100% autumnal – I think it topped out at around 80 degrees at one point in the day; not terrible, but also not exactly fall-like. Last year when I was roaming through the corn maze, I broke a sweat because I was wondering if I’d make it out alive…ha! This year I broke a sweat because it was hot!
The temperature at/near the top of the mountain – Blue Mountain (according to my friend…who lives on the mountain) to be exact – was much more seasonal and I thrilled a little bit when I opened the car door and felt the cool air. To say I was even more thrilled with the view would be a major understatement.
Is the view perfect? I mean – I’d say it’s pretty darn close to perfection. I’ve been invited back and I can’t wait to go and see the leaves changing color. I’m sure it will be absolutely amazing. I think the pictures pretty much speak for themselves…
